‘Tis the Season to be Jolly
Once again it’s getting closer to the festive party season and this year online casinos have good reason to celebrate. Recent figures from the UK Gambling Commission have once again found that online betting, bingo and casino websites are the fastest growing sector of the gambling industry. The remote betting sector was up 19% on last year, earning £213 million pounds more than in 2013.
Compared to the rest of the industry, online gambling is increasing at a far more rapid rate than more traditional games. The non-remote or physical betting sector was up just 4%, adding £43 million pounds to its annual revenue since 2013. Lottery games are also up by 10%, adding around £29 million pounds to its annual revenue since 2013.
Why is the online sector growing so fast?
There are a number of reasons why the industry might be growing so fast. We’re all constantly reading in the press that we have less and less time in our day to ourselves, making the more accessible online the games an easy choice. The internet is also becoming increasingly more available every year. No longer do you have to be tied to your desktop computer to access the web. Now we can log onto the internet wherever we are with Wi-Fi or even 3G or 4G connections.
How online casinos are celebrating this Christmas
Already the Christmas adverts have taken over the television and everywhere you look you’re reminded that the festive period is almost upon us. Online casinos have managed to embrace this buzz and release a number of seasonal games that are performing extremely well already.
As we get closer to the big day, games like Lady Lucks Christmas themed Reindeer Readies app will only get more popular. The Reindeer Readies slots game is a 25 line, 5 reel mobile slot game that pays out up to £6000 and available on Apple and Android devices. The game is proving to be popular with all players as it’s offering a minimum bet of just 5p a line and a maximum win of £25 pounds every spin.
Of course what will really attract people to this game is the festive theme. Players have to match up some of the most traditionally iconic festive images including a Christmas pudding, baubles and Santa Claus.
So with Christmas games proving so popular already, it’s likely they’ll only add to an already successful year for the online casino industry before the end of 2015.
